Audiophile Receiver 5.1 Will I Need A Receiver To Accomplish This?

Will I need a receiver to accomplish this? - audiophile receiver 5.1

I bought a set of Logitech X-540 speakers, Best Buy now has the good reviews and my friend raves about it. For those of you who do not want to see that there are 5.1 70 watts may not seem much, but they produce a pleasant sound for the 80-dollar price tag. Now my question. My friend has heard his connection to his TV and his team, I know b / c I. But I do not understand how he did it under a receiver or an audio splitter and I can give him the time of the request. I keep getting an audio filter B / C, you lose sound quality and I am a cheap version of an audiophile and I understand that, and because the price of this equation does not want to pay up to $ 200 for a receiver.
I have my Xbox 360 and Wii connected to my TV, a Toshiba 40XV645U I took at a good price. Now the X-540 with an adapter for the audio connection for PC, green converts to L / R audio component is the TV, plug it in and bingo it works ... but b / c I used green for the connection of the adapter is not on my computer as a liaisono.
My goal is to draw my movies in high definition and high definition playback on my 5.1 speaker surround-sound playback. (I have it all right to open the audio settings, I just saw Pirates in 1080i on my TV from my computer, but no surround sound.).
So with my settings as I get there? If further information is needed please let me know, I'll check them periodically during the day.
Thank you in advance.

What we have here is a set of computer speakers with food. Can this be used with a receiver .. general. They are completely different and not interchangeable. Think of the subwoofer with all inputs and outputs and receiver in this configuration. It acts both as an audio receiver does not pass, but only as an entry, not a receiver.

What you need to use multiple entries with these loudspeakers a selector of sources and some RCA (red / white)> 1 / 8 "stereo (headphone type) Cable Jack.

Here is an example of a source selector.

Actually I have a Radio Shack audio only that I used to use with my computer as you. Stopped long ago, the only audio source selectors, however. I got mine 15 years easily!

PS: If the speaker wireless control would not come, this should be set. What this series is a pleasant and comfortable place to connect your headphones and audio controls in touch. Not bad at all, but not wireless.

If you want a wireless control the volume on your PC, you can get a good USB remote control market is doing just that.

Edit to all other details
---------------------

It appears that you have used a starting line receiver (in particular) for a recording device. Yes, it is true that work and can actually do what you want. I am really ashamed not to think immediately such use.

It just seems absurd to use a receiver like this, and all waste, electricity and the space for a source selector and no real output for speakers. If you buy a separate receiver, really cheap (the cheapest one) can find a job and use it in this way to work. You only need a simple audio cable to connect everything, what appear to associate.

No, seriously, a receiver and speaker surround-sound standard should be used rather than the PC speaker system.
